Compact footprint for smaller components
The RapiTrim full size Trim and Test system allows for full size PCB panels. This can dramatically reduce the time and cost of trimming a PCB. Circuits can be as large as the substrate itself and probing of dense designs is effortless - this previously required multiple passes with multiple probe cards. The system uses four independent flying probes which allow them to access any component location, size, orientation and layout. The ease of job creation combined with fixtureless probing allow the RapiTrim systems to outperform older technology in both high volume production as well as low-volume, high-mix situations.

Optional Features and Hardware
Stack loader in RapiTrim-C
Both load and unload stacks are located at the front of the system for easy access. Substrates up to 200 x 200 mm are loaded by vacuum pickup. Cup locations are adjustable to accommodate small to maximum size substrates. Slipsheet handling is also possible.
The SM200 base signal routing switch card provides expanded signal routing functionality for active trim and specialized measurement applications.
External Instrument Support
The trim controller can interface to external instrumentation for passive and active trim operations using standard LAN (LXI) interface. Such instrumentation can be digital multimeters, source-measure units, signal generators, power supplies or external loads.
Custom part fixturing for hybrid circuits or other small substrates
These are designed in collaboration with the customer and supplied with the system. Example of a custom 9-up fixture with locating pockets and vacuum hold-down.
Automated probe tip changing
Anytime a change in probe tips is required, the current set (one or all) can be unloaded into an empty holder and fresh tips loaded from an adjacent holder. Probes are automatically calibrated and trimming can resume, all without operator handling.
Barcode or 2-D matrix code reading
Used for panel identification, and can be manual or automated.
Process sequence customization
The trim process operation can be customized using a sequence of defined sub-tasks. This allows the processing of DUT components to be tailored to the specific application. Supported sub-task operations include conditional processing, looping, control of voltage and current sources and measurement instruments (both internal and external), among others.
